Originally, the nutcracker was purely used to crack nuts; however, today it is mainly a collector's item. All of our nutcrackers are handcrafted and hand painted in Germany. Each one is unique in its own way.

We are honored to showcase nutcrackers from Mr. Lother Junghänel (father) and Mr. Hanno Junghänel (son). Mr. Lother Junghänel celebrates his 61st anniversary as a Master Wood Carver. He is one of the last master wood carvers in Germany.

Mr. Hanno Junghänel acquired his father’s business in 1993 and is a Master Wood Turner. Under his leadership, Dreshslerei Junghänel began exporting nutcrackers to the United States and Japan. All of their nutcrackers are signed, numbered and dated.
